State government withdraws Rahul Gandhi's PA and driver

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has withdrawn the personal assistant and driver allotted to Rahul Gandhi. The decision came as Rahul was disqualified from the post of MP.

The Public Administration Services Department has issued an order releasing Personal Assistant KR Ratheesh Kumar and Driver C Mohammad Rafi with immediate effect. The state government's action comes while Rahul Gandhi's appeal against his disqualification is pending before the Gujarat High Court.

Ratheesh Kumar is a senior clerk in the office of the Sultan Bathery Re-Survey Superintendent, Wayanad. Muhammad Rafi is a native of Pulinjal in Vellamunda, Wayanad. Both of them have been directed to return the identity documents received from the Home Department. The order also directed Ratheesh Kumar to report to the mother department.
