Was Nakshathra's murder premeditated? Mahesh made special axe to kill her, he was disappointed over failed remarriage, says police

ALAPPUZHA: As per reports, police believe that the murder of a six-year-old girl in Mavelikara by her father is premeditated and he made a special axe for the murder. Police say that the accused was disappointed that his remarriage failed.


Six-year-old Nakshathra, of Anakkoottil in Punnamoodu, was killed last night. Nakshatra's father Sree Mahesh (38) has been arrested by the police in connection with the incident.

On hearing the commotion, Mahesh's mother Sunanda rushed here from the house next door and she saw Nakshatra lying on the sofa with cuts. Mahesh also attacked Sunanda who ran out making noise. She suffered cuts on her hand. Mahesh also threatened and attacked the nearby residents.

Nakshathra's mother Vidya committed suicide three years ago. Mahesh's remarriage was fixed with a woman constable. However, she reportedly backed out of the marriage after he regularly came home and harassed her.
