NEW YORK: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Loka Kerala Sabha is working transparently. The Chief Minister said that controversies are being deliberately created and that some are trying to portray anything in a bad light. He said that no fund collection took place for the conference of expatriates. The CM was speaking after inaugurating the Lok Kerala Sabha Regional Conference in New York.
The Chief Minister used the opening platform to respond to the controversies related to the Loka Kerala Sabha. "The Loka Kerala Sabha is run by people from their respective regions. I don't know how much money those around me spent. Some people are trying to spread unfounded lies. What kind of nepotism was there at the conference? Was this the first time a government program is getting sponsorship?" the CM asked.
At the same time, the Chief Minister also talked about the steps taken after the last three Lok Kerala Sabhas. "Out of the 67 recommendations approved after the third Kerala Sabha conference, the government has submitted 11 issues for the consideration of the central government. 56 recommendations are under consideration by the respective departments. One of the most important proposals raised in the Third Lok Kerala Sabha was to set up a digital data platform for the data collection of expatriates. Let me inform you that the portal, which is being developed by NORKA ROOTS in association with Digital University, is in its final stages. The preparation of a comprehensive insurance system for expatriates, which emerged in the Third Loka Kerala Sabha, is also in its final stages. This government is implementing all the concrete proposals submitted by the expatriates," he said.
