NEW DELHI: There are no limits to the muzzling of media in Modi’s new India, said CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury. The CPM stalwart's response came after former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey accused the Indian government of intimidating Twitter employees with arrest during farmers' protests.

“Dissent is intimidated, journalists threatened, abused and jailed on false pretext. No amount of denial by the Modi government can obfuscate the truth of doctoring media content.” SItaram Yechuri tweeted.

Interestingly, yesterday when asked about the Kerala government's decision to register a case against Asianet bureau chief who unearthed the Maharaja college scam, the CPM general secretary quickly ran for cover avoiding further response.
