NEW DELHI: Priya Varghese filed a caveat in the Supreme Court regarding the appointment of an associate professor in the Malayalam Department of Kannur University. Priya requested not to issue an interim order without hearing her case if the opposing parties file an appeal against the high court verdict.

The single bench ordered that Priya's teaching experience in the rank list for the appointment of Associate Professor in Kannur University's Malayalam Department was not subject to UGC norms. A favourable order was obtained from the division bench in the plea filed by Priya Varghese against this. The division bench’s order was after rejecting the single bench's observation that she has no teaching experience.

However, the complainant in this case, Dr Joseph Skaria has already stated that he will approach the Supreme Court against this order. Shortly Priya filed a caveat in the Supreme Court. The plea was filed through advocates K R Subhash Chandran and Biju P Raman. In her plea, Priya has mentioned not to issue an interim order without hearing her arguments.
