THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the first KAS batch completes training and takes up duties, Alappuzha native H Roopesh is reaching a high position by overcoming his visual limitations. Roopesh's appointment is also a feather in the cap for KAS.

Roopesh was blind at birth. He reached his current position from that helpless state. Roopesh, who always showed interest in studies, became a UP school teacher in 2005. In 2009, he became a senior teacher at a higher secondary school and realized that nothing is impossible in life. That's how he wrote the KAS exam. PSC allowed him to appear for the exam with the help of a scribe. Roopesh won the first rank in the visually impaired category. When he came to IMG for the training, officials ranging from the director K Jayakumar to the office assistant provided him with all the support. Roopesh's disciple Anshad is always with him.

Want to work in Alappuzha

Rupesh has only one wish- to work in his hometown Alappuzha. His request is under consideration by the government.
