Former Chief Minister and Congress leader AK Antony said that the demise of Oommen Chandy is the biggest loss for the people of Kerala. "The demise of Oommen Chandy is a loss for the Congress party and UDF in Kerala. This is the biggest loss I have ever suffered in my public life. This is also a huge loss for my family," Antony said.
K Sudhakaran
KPCC president K Sudhakaran MP said that Congress and Kerala have lost a public servant who won a place in people's hearts with love. "Oommen Chandy was also the name of comfort, which was just a call away for anything even at midnight. Oommen Chandy's gentle demeanor and his ability to identify the common man at every step of the public service made him more popular," Sudhakaran said.

Congress leader VM Sudheeran said that Oommen Chandy is the person who gave a new face to student organization activities. "Oommen Chandy guided the students towards creative action plans. Congress leader K Muraleedharan said that Oommen Chandy's demise is an irreparable loss for the Congress party as well as the UDF. "It was Oommen Chandy who filled the void created by the demise of K Karunakaran to some extent. His development activities came from the side of the people. Although we had many clashes between us, we were very friendly in the last few days. It was Oommen Chandy who asked me to contest in Vadakara and Nemom," Muraleedharan said.
