ALAPPUZHA: A sexual harassment complaint was filed against CPM area committee member. A woman party member filed a complaint against the leader, who is a member of the area committee. The leader accused is a retired government official. This leader is in charge of the local committee of the coastal area to which the complainant belongs.

The woman alleged in the complaint that he said that if seen in the right way, she can rise in the party. It is also alleged that he said that he will come home when her husband is not at home.

However, the leadership was not ready to accept the complaint. The woman said that when she complained, some leaders threatened her and when she went to the district committee office to lodge the complaint, a senior leader sent her back. In this situation, the complainant has decided to file a complaint with the party state committee.

The complainant is not ready to hand over the complaint to the police as per law. Efforts are being made to resolve the complaint within the party. After the dissolution of the two area committees in Alappuzha, the ad hoc committee is in place.
