Youth climbs tree to escape flood; Stuck for several hours.

HYDERABAD: Monsoon continues to prevail over North India and various parts of South India. Various incidents including lightning floods and landslides are regularly reported. Telangana has also received heavy rains in the last few days. A video showing the damage of the flood is now coming out. A video of a man holding onto a small tree branch is circulating on social media. In the video, all the surrounding buildings are submerged in water.

In the video, a group of people can be seen making a rope by tying sarees to save him. The incident took place in Jalgama Nagar in Telangana's Khammam district. Many people took shelter on the terrace of the house due to the flood. For the first time in the history of the state, a village called Lakshmidevipeta received 64.9 cm of rain.

Heavy rains caused extensive damage to roads, bridges, houses and crops in Telangana. So far six people have died due to rain in the state. India Meteorological Department has informed that there will be very heavy rains in the state. Mulugu and Bhupalpally districts received heavy rainfall due to a cloudburst. Meanwhile, in North India, heavy rainfall occurred in Punjab, Maharashtra, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. In Maharashtra, a red alert was announced in Mumbai, Ratnagiri and Raigad yesterday.
