PALAKKAD: The Indian meteorological department issued a heatwave warning in Palakkad on Thursday. IMD has informed that heat wave conditions will prevail in various areas of Palakkad district from April 25 to 27, 2024.

With the scorching heat not showing any signs of stopping down, IMD has forecasted the heat to reach 41 degrees Celsius in the coming days in Palakkad district.

A heat wave is a situation that calls for extreme caution. Due diligence should be exercised by public and non-governmental institutions. Sunburn and sunstroke are more likely to occur and can lead to death if left untreated.

From April 25 to 29, 2024, Palakkad district will experience a maximum temperature of 41°C; Kollam and Thrissur districts will experience a maximum temperature of 39°C; Kannur and Kozhikode districts will experience a maximum temperature of 38°C, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Kasaragod districts will experience a maximum temperature of 37°C. The Indian Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Malappuram districts is likely to rise to 36°C.
