THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Speaker A N Shamseer stated that his remarks were not intended to harm any believers. He emphasized that he is not a person who intends to offend the sentiments of any religion and he holds respect for all religious beliefs.

He expressed, "Where do these discussions lead? Many have spoken as if my words hold truth. Such debates are uncalled for in a state like Kerala. And to reiterate, many before me have made similar statements. My intention was not to cause distress to anyone who holds religious beliefs."

He noted that a hate campaign is currently underway in India but to a certain extent, Kerala has prevented its penetration. He asserted that this hate campaign is attempting to gain a foothold here, but the society in Kerala will firmly reject it. The community of believers will also stand against it. He affirmed that individuals who are religiously inclined support him and he has received ample backing. Shamseer questioned how it could be considered irreligious to foster scientific awareness.

The Speaker also informed that the ninth session of the fifteenth Legislative Assembly would commence on the 7th of this month. He requested the media to cooperate this time as they did previously.
