NEW DELHI: An earthquake has hit the national capital Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. It is reported that an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale was felt along the borders of Afghanistan and Pakistan. According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake originated in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, 418 km northwest of Gulmarg district in Jammu and Kashmir. Its tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi around 9.30 pm on Saturday.
The tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri, Srinagar, Gulmarg, Katra region and the base camp of the Mata Vaishno Devi temple, as well as cities in Pakistan like Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar.
