Bomman and Belli are a couple who became famous after the documentary 'The Elephant Whisperers' won an Oscar. Reports are now coming out that the two have sent a legal notice to the makers of the documentary demanding two crore rupees.
According to the notice, they were assured of a decent home and financial assistance based on the earnings from the documentary. The couple alleges that the documentary team reaped significant financial benefits but neglected their obligations towards them.
The allegations made by the couple are directed at the director of the documentary, Karthiki Gonsalves and the producers, Sikhya Entertainment. However, Sikhya Entertainment has denied these claims stating ‘All the allegations are baseless. We hold utmost respect for everyone involved in the creation of this documentary.’
Praveen Raj, a lawyer and activist based in Chennai who has been acquainted with the Gonsalves couple for nearly a decade, mentioned that promises were made for financial assistance and support for Belli's granddaughter's education.
