Saudi FA proposes plan to include league's best team in UEFA Champions League

saudi-football

RIYADH: After acquiring big players from Europe, Saudi FA have approached the UEFA authorities with a request to give a chance to a club from their country in the Champions League. The proposal by Saudi FA is to give wild card entry to the winners of the Saudi Pro League in the UEFA Champions League, where clubs from various European countries compete.

Saudi clubs have also requested UEFA to conduct the Champions League with 36 teams instead of 32 teams.

If UEFA approves the Saudi authorities' proposal, football icons such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Karim Benzema and Sadio Mane may get a chance to play in Europe again. In that situation, the status of the Saudi Pro League, which is already discussed in world football, will rise on the football map.
