The house of former minister and Kunnamkulam MLA AC Moideen, as well as other locations, were raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) the other day. The raid conducted in connection with the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam lasted for about 22 hours. ED has not made any official response on the raid. Meanwhile, the CPM has strongly reacted against the raid on Moideen's house.

A statement issued by the CPM state secretariat stated that a deliberate effort to spread a wrong perception among the people about AC Moideen, who is leading a pure political life, was behind the raid. It further stated that the raid was part of a deliberate attempt taking place across the country to weaken the opposition by using central agencies. The statement also calls for a strong response against such actions.
