LUCKNOW: Neha Public School in Muzaffarnagar, which was caught in the controversy over the slap incident has been temporarily closed for now. The education department has asked the authorities to close down the school until the investigation is completed.

On Saturday, a deplorable video emerged showing a teacher egging other students to beat up a Muslim boy.

"I have declared jitne bhi Mohammedan bachhe hai..." These words were spewed by the teacher Tripti Tyagi while other students lined up to slap the Muslim boy. The student was seen whimpering while receiving the slaps in this disturbing video. The teacher at some point also asked the students to “hit him harder” and "hit him on the waist".

Despite the national outrage over the incident, teacher Tripti Tyagi stood her ground as she denied any wrongdoing in the incident. According to the teacher, the student was falling behind in education and her comments were directed at Muslim mothers who care less about the education of their children. Meanwhile, a decision has been made to transfer the students of Neha Public School to nearby schools, simply to ensure that their studies don't get affected in the issue.

Many political leaders including Rahul Gandhi denunciated the incident.
