Driver enters mosque to offer prayers, migrant flees with auto

KOZHIKOKDE: A migrant fled with an auto parked on the road side when the driver went to pray at the mosque. The incident happened at Puthiyapalam in Kozhikode. The auto of Haneefa of Payyanakkal was robbed. The police arrested Rahul Kumar of Uttar Pradesh in an investigation conducted focusing on the CCTV visuals. He fled leaving the auto on the way.

The auto was parked in front of the mosque in Puthiyapalam. Rahul stole the vehicle and then travelled in the city with his friends. Later abandoned the vehicle on the way. He told police that he stole the vehicle after seeing it on the roadside. It is not clear whether he has been involved in any other theft case before.
