T P Madhavan was the first general secretary of AMMA organization and is a veteran actor who appeared in more than 600 films. However, nothing could escape the fact that the actor is still forlorn. He celebrated Onam in Gandhi Bhavan, the old age home.

He has been here for the last eight years, and now, his ill health is taking a toll as his memory is slowly fading.

During this time, only a few colleagues including Suresh Gopi, Ganesh Kumar, Chippi, and her husband Ranjith visited him. There were also some reports about his son visiting him but the Gandhi Bhavan officials denied this news. When asked if he expected anyone to come to see him, Madhavan replied, 'Oh, who would come to see me?' Madhavan expects colleagues to drop by but is aware of the hassles involved in their work.

Eight years ago, TP Madhavan left cinema world and went to Haridwar for a pilgrimage. It was later learned that the actor collapsed in his room and was shifted to a hospital with the help of locals including saints. He was later shifted to Kerala, where he had to endure some years of miserable solitude life in a seedy lodge. It was serial director Prasad, who made an effort to shift the actor to Gandhi Bhavan.
