Theatre hit Jailer goes OTT; Amazon Prime announces streaming date

The OTT release of Rajnikanth movie Jailer, which is still breaking box office records and continuing its run in theatres, has been announced. The film will start streaming on Amazon Prime on the 7th of this month. Amazon itself made the announcement through social media. The movie will be streaming in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages.

Directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar, the film hit the theatres on August 10. It is reported that the collection of the film is closing to 600 crores. The HD print of the film was leaked on the internet and created a setback. This is the reason behind the sudden OTT release of the film. Rajinikanth appeared as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Vinayakan's performance as the villain Varman also won applause. Produced by Sun Pictures, Mohanlal, Shivrajkumar and Jackie Shroff appeared in guest roles in the movie.
