Dams closed as rains subside in Pathanamthitta

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Moozhiyar, Maniyar and Karikayam dams, which were opened last day after the water level rose due to heavy rains, were closed yesterday morning after the rain subsided. An orange alert has been announced in the district today. The Met Department has informed that the rain will continue for another four to five days.

Incessant rain at night has caused landslides in many places. KSRTC resumes services to Gavi, which was isolated due to landslides. Tourism services has been put on hold. Landslides occurred in Kakki and Anathod regions.

Traffic has been restored on the landslide-hit Seethathod-Mundanpara road.
