UDF got votes of Jaick's family as well, even if God comes and advises them, Left Front will not change, mocks K Sudhakaran 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC chief K Sudhakaran said Chandy Oommen has also got the votes of LDF candidate Jaick C Thomas’ family in Puthupally. Talking to the media, he said the victory in Puthupally was the people's revenge against the Left government.

‘The United Democratic Front (UDF) had from the beginning said that the UDF will win in Puthupally. We also said that Chandy Oommen will get more votes than Jaick. This victory is the biggest setback for the Left. M V Govindan said Congress got the votes of the BJP. We have got BJP’s votes. Similarly, have also got the votes of the CPM. We have got everyone's vote. Jaick has not got majority even in his own booth or Minister V N Vasavan's booth. The victory in Puthupally is the revenge of the people against the left government. This is the victory against Pinarayi Vijayan's arrogance, dictatorship, thuggish politics and family rule. We congratulate all the voters of Puthupally. This is a hundred percent political victory. There may be a wave of sympathy. However, success is not only because of that,’ said Sudhakaran. He also mocked that the leftists will not change even if God comes down and advises them.

Chandy Oommen won with a record majority in Puthupally. Reports said that he got a majority of 37719 votes. The defeat of Jaick C Thomas is miserable. Reports indicate that the Left has got 12684 less votes than last time. Even in staunch Left strongholds, the LDF was behind. BJP was not at all in the picture.

Chandy Oommen got the highest majority in the history of Puthupally. In the 2011 elections, Oommen Chandy's highest majority in the constituency in the 12 elections contested was against CPM's Suja Susan George by a margin of 33,255 votes.
