Youth attacks wife and father-in-law in family court for denying divorce, police file case

IDUKKI: A youth attacked his wife and her father for denying divorce. Her husband Anoop had filed a divorce case. His wife Jewel and her father Thomas, natives of Moolamattam, came for the counseling at the family court in Thodupuzha.

He attacked the two when they stood firm in their decision against giving divorce during the counseling. The incident happened in front of the councilor and the officials of the court. The family court in Thodupuzha directed the police to file a case against the accused. The police have recorded the statements of Jewel and Thomas undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Police said Anoop is absconding. Anoop's parents have also approached the police with a complaint against Jewel and Thomas.
