Kerala gets soaked in rain; IMD predicts heavy showers in coming two days

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in the state again. A yellow alert has been declared in seven districts of Kerala. As per IMD, heavy rains with strong thunderstorms are expected in Kerala on Sunday and Saturday.

A yellow alert has been announced in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts today and Idukki, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Sunday.

The National Center for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has informed media that there is a possibility of 0.6 to 1.8-meter-high waves and storm surge along the Kerala coast today (16-09-2023) till 05.30 pm.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has informed the media that there is a possibility of high waves and storm surge along the southern Tamil Nadu coast today (16-09-2023) till 11.30 pm.
