Woman's corpse inside bag at Kerala-Karnataka border; mutilated body parts in rotting state

KANNUR: A woman's body was found decomposing near the road at Makkoottam Perambadi pass on the Thalassery-Coorg interstate highway. The preliminary conclusion is that this is the dead body of a young woman aged 18-19 years. The body, which is two weeks old, is in a rotting condition. Virajpet police have started an investigation into the incident

The trolley bag containing the dead body was found near Ottakolli, 17 km from Koottupuzha which is at the Kerala border. The body was cut into four pieces. Karnataka Forest Department officials were the ones who found the body and informed the police later. An inquest was conducted and the remains were shifted to the Virajpet Taluk Hospital Mortuary. The body was in a new trolley bag from America. The investigation is being conducted after taking a churidar as a clue.

Being the main road from Kannur to Bangalore, this is a place that many people travel through on a daily basis. Karnataka Police has announced that the investigation will be extended to Kerala as well.
