KOLKATA: Actor and former MP Suresh Gopi will be the new chief of Satyajit Rai Film and Television Institute. The appointment is for three years. The actor will also hold the charge of the governing council chairman of the country's leading film studies centre during this period. Union Minister Anurag Thakur shared the news of Suresh Gopi's appointment through social media.
The Union Minister congratulated the veteran actor for being selected to hold the post of Chairman of the institute through a post shared on the X platform. In the post, he said, "Your vast experience & cinematic brilliance are surely going to enrich this esteemed institute. I wish you a fruitful tenure."
