The Asian Games hosted by China will have the official opening on Saturday exactly at Indian time 5:30 pm. Dignitaries including Chinese President Xi Jinping are expected at the opening ceremony at the main venue, the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center.

12,414 players from 45 countries will compete in the two-week battle in 44 stadiums. Games like football, cricket, and volleyball have already started their preliminary rounds. The stadiums will be active by tomorrow. The athletic event will start on September 27th.

Men's hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh and Olympic medalist and world champion women's boxer Lovelina Borgohain will carry the Indian flag in March past. China's condescending act of denying visas to three female wushu players from Arunachal has invited scorn from India. Wushu games are set to begin tomorrow, and it is this sport that India was expected to field their maximum number of players(652).

Albeit being delayed by a year due to the pandemic, China has been in adept mode, blanketing the event with technical prowess and astounding administrative work. A digital lamp will be lit for the first time in the history of the Asian Games. There will also be smokeless digital fireworks with the help of 3D animation.

Indian Olympic Association President P.T. Usha has decided not to attend the event in protest against China canceling visas for Arunachal natives. There is a threat of rain for the opening ceremony at the Big Lotus Stadium. In case of heavy rain, the event will be moved to the nearby indoor stadium. 30 lakh tickets have been sold for the event.
