KOCHI: There have been no major changes in the itinerary plans of college students as Goa remains unrivaled as the most sought-after spot of all. However, it was sweating concern for one college principal in Kottiyam as fell into a quagmire for permitting Goa excursion for his college students.
The tourist bus was spilling in exuberance; students making dance moves, and others singing and taking Instagram reels when suddenly, the vehicle came to a halt. The group was returning from Goa when the excise department stopped the vehicle for a check near Edappally in Kochi. 50 bottles of illegal liquor were seized from not just the students, but from the principal, driver of the bus, and other staff. A total of 31.8 liters were seized. An excise case was registered against four persons including the principal for smuggling liquor. The raid was at 9 a.m. on Friday morning.
There were 33 girls and six boys who were TTC students. The bags of the bus driver, cleaner, tour operator, and principal were stored in the luggage compartment of the bus.
