Autorickshaw driver commits suicide after receiving confiscation notice from bank

THRISSUR: Another suicide has been reported in Kerala due to loan arrears. The deceased has been identified as Biju (42), a resident of Parappuram and an auto-rickshaw labourer in Kuzhoor in Thrissur's Mala. He committed suicide after receiving a foreclosure notice from the bank.

According to his relatives, Biju took a loan of Rs 3 lakhs from Kuzhur Cooperative Bank. After receiving the foreclosure notice, his wife contacted the bank. Biju allegedly hanged himself after his wife went to the bank. The Congress local leadership alleged that Biju committed suicide due to threats from the bank officials.

Meanwhile, a businessman committed suicide in Kottayam yesterday due to threats from the bank for non-repayment of the loan. The deceased has been identified as KC Binu (50), a native of Aymanam's Kudayapadi.
