Students inconsolable as beloved sports teacher bids goodbye; Video turns super viral

THRISSUR: Two years of love, bonhomie, and care were too strong to be separated. It was well evident in the long wails and fretful snivels that reverberated through the classrooms in Punnayur Akalad MIC English medium school. The students were not ready to send off their beloved sports teacher and the video of the same turned viral in no time, even forcing Education Minister V Sivankutty to share the same on his Facebook page.

The incident shown in the video happened on September 27th. K M Sait (28) relinquished his office as a sports faculty in Punnayur Akalad MIC English Senior Secondary School as he was looking for better prospects abroad.

However, for more than 500 students in the school, Sait’s exit was something that they were unprepared to hear or adapt to. In the two years at school, Sait developed a great rapport with students of all ages and was a favorite for all including faculty members. Sait is currently on his way to pursue post-graduation studies in the sports field.

LKG and UKG children burst into tears during the farewell and were inconsolable. In the video, Sait can be also seen wiping his tears finding it difficult to hold his tears in front of this immense love. It later turned to the duty of teachers to take back the children to their classroom and pacify them, but it did no good as the wailing turned higher.

Sait reached London on September 29th and it was at this moment that he realized how the video had gone viral. Two days before that, his wife Nasila had come to London for her PG studies. The couple's son is nine-month-old Mujeeb Rahman.
