PATHANAMTHITTA: A complaint reached Ranni police about a Rs 10 lakh job fraud case involving recruitment scam accused Akhil Sajeevan and his accomplice, Yuva Morcha leader Rajesh. Ranni police registered a case against the duo on Tuesday. The complainant mentioned that the duo cheated her by taking Rs 10 lakh and promising a job at KIIFB.
The flurry of complaints against Akhil started appearing after police booked him for another fraud committed behind the veneer of the health department.
According to the complaint lodged by the Ranni native, Akhil tricked her into paying Rs 10 lakh assuring job for her daughter in KIIFB as an accountant. The complainant’s daughter is an Mcom graduate. Kerala Kaumudi had reported about this scam on 30th September. Akhil met the Ranni native through Rajesh, who was the vice president of the Yuva Morcha Ranni branch. Akhil bought Rs 9 lakh through treasury and bank accounts and Rs 1 lakh was directly taken from the complainant.
During the events, Akhil once informed the complainant about her daughter receiving the job in KIIFB. The family started their journey to Thiruvananthapuram in glee learning about the news. Akhil also accompanied the family on the journey. When the car reached the KIIFB office near the secretariat, a man named Deepu approached the family and introduced himself as a KIIFB officer. Deepu said the family wouldn’t be allowed inside the office as some work was ongoing.
The complainant's daughter was made to sign a book named Appointment Register, only to convince the family about the job. Later some tax-related sheets were sent to the girl online as the gang told her that work would be online for a few days time. She was instructed to answer the questions on it. However, the questions were so complex that even tax-related experts found it difficult to solve.
The family later tried contacting Akhil Sajeev but he told his unavailability but reassured the family about the KIIFB job. It was later that the family learned about the big fraud behind the move. Akhil, who is now being interrogated by the Pathanamthitta police, will be produced in the Pathanamthitta court on Wednesday. After this, the Ranni police will file a custodial application for questioning in the 10 lakh fraud case.
