CHENNAI: The Vande Bharat trains have arguably upended the railway system in the country, but since its inception, a pertinent question remained unanswered. What about the commoners in India and how could they afford to travel in these opulent trains with their meagre earnings?
To alleviate all such queries of the common class, the central government has introduced Vande Sadharan, the latest member from the Vande Bharat family, exclusive to commoners. Vande Bharat operating in Kerala has a ticket price of Rs 1520 from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod. This amount is beyond the reach of a common man.
End of all such worries as images of Vande Sadharan coach are out and have gone viral on the internet space. It is reported that the production of Vande Sadharan coaches, which will be prepared with a non-AC facility, is in the final stage at Chennai Integral Coach Factory.
The Times of India reports that the first train is likely to be released by the end of this month. This train can carry around 1800 passengers and can travel at a speed of 130 km per hour.
Passengers will get the same travel experience as Vande Bharat through non-AC coaches. In yet another plus, passengers can travel without reservation. The new coaches are equipped with all modern facilities.
Special care has also been taken to provide ergonomic designs for a luxury travel experience. The interior design is modelled after existing general coaches. But the lights, fans and switches are set in a new design. Separate washrooms for the physically challenged are also provided in each coach. All the safety systems in Vande Bharat coaches are emulated in Vande Sadharan.
WAP 5 locomotives will be used for these non-AC trains to cut costs.
