Suicide of accused in Walayar case; one arrested

KOCHI: Police have arrested one person in connection with the suicide of one of the accused in the Walayar case. The arrested person has been identified as Perumbavoor native Niyas, a supervisor in a contract company. He has been charged with incitement to suicide.

Palakkad Pampampallam native Madhu Neelakandan (29) aka Kutti Madhu was found dead the other day. It was the Binanipuram police who arrested Niyas. The police found that Niyas had detained Madhu in the incident where a copper plate was stolen from the company and the mental agony caused by the incident led to the suicide.

Madhu was found hanging inside the room in Edayar at around 7.30 a.m. yesterday. He had been working in the contract company for one and a half years.
