Congress is not ready for election, upcoming election will be struggle for survival; Sudhakaran and Satheesan open up

congress

KANNUR: KPCC president K Sudhakaran and Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan openly said that the upcoming election will be a battle for the survival of the Congress and that the party is not ready for the election now. Both were speaking at the Kannur district leadership convention.

K Sudhakaran alleged that infighting is still going on in the Congress in the name of group, caste, religion etc.

"All differences must be eliminated. All non-functioning committees shall be dissolved immediately. Is there anyone who can keep his hand on his chest and say that he has done something in his region by seeing the election ahead? Those who have not even done anything related to the voter list are clashing in the name of some interests. The functioning of each sub-component will be assessed within a week. In case of lapses, new committees will be formed. No one should try to become a leader by blaming others in their group. The leadership will take action against such moves. People are dissatisfied with the central government as well as the state government. However, we are fighting against each other when the weather is so favourable. Kannur is the hometown of the KPCC president. The leaders of the district who shed blood for me should stand united," Sudhakaran said.

Opposition leader VD Satheesan reminded that the upcoming election will be a a big battle for the Congress.

"Proper deployment of forces is required. The scattered army will have to retreat. The steps taken in Thrikkakara and Puthupally were precise. There could be many other reasons for the successes there. Among them, the most important thing is systematic action. The leaders should assess how many booth committees are working efficiently. They should be ready to reorganize their own booth committee within a week. Activists should question leaders who cannot do that," Satheesan said.
