KOZHIKODE: Media One journalist Shida Jagath is not convinced by Suresh Gopi's apology and will seek legal assistance to move against the actor in the coming days. The journalist snubbed Suresh Gopi’s apology and termed it as an explanation anointed in the form of an apology.

“ He should recognize his mistake. Touching other people especially women without their permission is wrong. Suresh Gopi was rounded by journalists on Friday and he was asked about his candidature from Thrissur constituency. At that time he patted my shoulder and started brushing his hands and I felt terrible and shocked. I forcibly took back his hands and again he did the same” Shida commented.

Shida has been in the media field for the last 15 years and says she never felt this perturbed by any incident. The journalist has thus decided to move ahead legally against Suresh Gopi and says this issue needs to be addressed in society.

“No other journalist should ever encounter such an experience. As far as I am concerned, as a woman, it was humiliation nonetheless” - said Shida Jagath.

The incident occurred during a media interaction in Tali, Kozhikode when Suresh Gopi put his hand on the shoulder of a woman journalist who had asked a question he did not like. It is clear in the footage that this is repeated even after she brushed his hands away. The journalist involved has also indicated that she is considering legal action.
