KANNUR: An investigation has started after the AI camera captured the figure of a woman, who was not in the vehicle. Although no complaint has been received in the incident, the motor vehicle department is conducting an investigation on their own. Adithyan, a native of Cheruvathur Kaithakkad, was issued a challan for driving without a seat belt.
The motor vehicle department said the picture was captured in the camera installed in Payyannur. The picture in the notice shows the figure of another woman in the backseat of the car. However, Adithyan and his family said there was no such person in the car.
The motor vehicle department said that one picture cannot be placed on top of another picture on the camera. To know the real reason, the camera needs to be examined. The motor vehicle department also expressed doubt that this could be the reflection of the woman sitting in the front seat. The MVD has inquired with Keltron in this regard. Meantime, the vehicle owner Adithyan paid a fine of Rs 1000 for not wearing a seat belt.
Adithyan and his family were caught on the camera at Keloth while they were on their way to Payyannur from Cheruvathur. Adithyan and his maternal sister in the car were not wearing seat belts. There were two children in the back seat of the car. They are not seen in the picture in the challan. Another woman can be seen sitting in the back seat. However, the owner said there was no such person in the car. This is what has confused the department of motor vehicles.
