Woman kills daughter and ends life after teacher ends relationship of years, crucial information out

KASARGOD: A teacher has been arrested in the suicide case of a woman and her daughter. The two jumped into a well and ended their lives at Melparamba Aramanganam. The arrested is Safwan Aadhur (29) near Erol Juma Masjid. He was charged for tampering evidence and abetment of suicide.

Rubina, a private school teacher and her five-and-a-half-year-old daughter Hanana Mariam, went missing from their home in Aramanganam on September 15 early morning. During investigation, the bodies of the two were recovered from the nearby well with the help of the fire force. A post-mortem at the Kasaragod General Hospital confirmed the death by drowning. The woman’s expatriate husband filed a complaint regarding the death.

The woman and the teacher were in a relationship for years. The police said that a verbal dispute broke out between the two after the youth decided to end the relationship and marry another woman. When the police examined the mobile phones of the two, found the chats between them deleted.

The teacher summoned to the police station to take his statement, was arrested for abetment of suicide and destruction of evidence, after detailed interrogation. The Hosdurg court remanded the accused.
