Encounter between Maoists and thunderbolt in Kannur; two Maoists shot at?

KANNUR: The Thunderbolt battled with Maoists in Kannur. Two Maoists were suspected to be shot at. The Maoists fired at the police during patrolling and soon the police retaliated. Three guns were recovered from the spot. The firing was near Ayyankunnu Uruppumkutty forests.

The locals said they heard loud gunshots from the forest area. It lasted for ten minutes. More police force has gone to the spot after the incident. Police found three guns from the shooting spot. The police suspect that the Maoist group has organized camps at this place. The police were not injured in the firing. Stains of blood were seen on the spot. Following that, it was suspected that the Maoists were injured.
