IDUKKI: Former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala visited Mariyakutty and Annamma who protested uniquely with begging bowls in the streets for not getting their welfare pension. Chennithala met both of them at Mariyakutty's house in Adimali. The Congress leader also promised that he would give them both Rs 1600 each from his Gandhigram fund until they get their pension. Mariyakutty and Annamma gave an endearing kiss to the congress leader when he was about to leave. Chennithala on Sunday handed over Rs 1600 each to both Mariyakutty and Annamma. He also gave them full freedom to call him anytime if needed help.

Chennithala reached the house of Mariyakutty on Sunday noon with an entourage of party workers.

"The government should apologize for making life hell for these two mothers. How will these poor people live? Everyone who is entitled to a pension in Kerala is suffering. The government has no time to see their tears. Their protest is the real picture of every people affected by the arrears” Chennithala said.

“A bus worth one and a half crore was bought for the Navakerala audience. Rs 80 lakhs per month is splashed for the helicopter. This government is a waste and they are corrupt.” Chennithala said that he would intervene in the government and the legislature to provide pensions quickly.
