KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that with the arrival of the Vande Bharat trains, people have once again realized the need for K-Rail. He was speaking after inaugurating the Nava Kerala Sadas in the Kalliasseri constituency.
"Many people are travelling on Vande Bharat. The highest revenue comes from the Kerala sector of Vande Bharat. Railways is receiving the highest revenue from Vande Bharat's Kerala sector. The deliberate delaying of other trains for Vande Bharat is making life miserable for passengers. The people have the feeling that such a situation will change only when the new track comes. Passengers and locals want to have a track where the train can move at a high speed. Permission from the central government is required for this," the CM said.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said that he would not have had to talk politics at the venue of the Nava Kerala Sadas if the opposition had cooperated in the programme.
"The programme has been organised to talk about the general affairs of the government. The Chief Minister and other ministers are not participating in the programme as LDF spokespersons. When the opposition talks politics, we will reply here at the Nava Kerala Sadas. Nava Kerala Sadas is witnessing huge participation of the public. Media can check the expenses at each venue of the Sadas. Due to the time limit, officials are receiving petitions as representatives of ministers," he added.
