KANNUR: CPM state secretary M V Govindan said will not condemn the attack by CPM-DYFI workers on youth congress activists who waved black flags to Nava Kerala bus. The youth congress activists have turned a suicide squad. He asked why condemn those coming to commit suicide by jumping before the vehicle.

The Congress is for a planned attack from today. Govindan asked the party workers not to fall in this provocation. He added that there should be no violence and will not allow to unleash it.

Meantime, LDF convener E P Jayarajan responded that it was an act of terrorism on the part of Youth Congress activists. It was not a democratic protest. Jayarajan said the Congress workers came with stones and sticks and that their aim was to endanger Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. As this is Kerala, nothing happened to them.

The incident happened last evening at Kalliasseri Pazhayangadi. About 20 youth congress workers who were shouting slogans with black flags on the roadside were beaten up. Following that, the police reached the spot and the attack continued for a long time. When they came to know that they were rescued and taken to Pazhayangadi police station, more CPM and DYFI activists reached there and unleashed violence. They vandalized the bikes parked in the station premises. They shouted at the media who were shooting the scenes. They hurled abuses at the police for not stopping the black flag protest.
