YC fake identity card case: Police take two into custody

PATHANAMTHITTA: Three people have been taken into custody by the police in connection with the fake identity card case pertaining to the Youth Congress elections. Three persons were taken into custody in Adoor of Pathanamthitta district, the constituency of Youth Congress state president Rahul Mamkoottathil. One of them is Abhi Vikram, former district secretary of the Youth Congress of Pathanamthitta district. Binin and Binu P are the other two.

The police investigation team had searched the houses of the leaders including Abhi Vikram. Abhi Vikram's laptop and mobile phone have also been seized. It is suspected that fake identity documents were made using these. Abhi Vikram is currently an employee of Pathanamthitta District Cooperative Bank. The police started the investigation on the complaint given directly by DYFI leaders. The investigation team had collected information from DYFI leaders AA Rahim MP, VK Sanoj and V. Wasif.

Meanwhile, the KPCC has not yet given an explanation to the Election Commission on the complaint related to fake ID case. The direction was to give an explanation within three days. The Chief Electoral Officer said that the notice will be issued again as the allotted time is over.
