Did not support Israel's aggression, Congress and I are with people of Palestine: Shashi Tharoor 

KOZHIKODE: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has come up with an explanation regarding the incident where he made anti-Hamas remarks. Tharoor said that in his speech which lasted over 30 minutes, he had made it clear that he was with the Palestinian people and never supported Israel. Shashi Tharoor made the controversial remark at the Palestine solidarity rally organised by the Muslim League.

"I said that it should not be seen as a religious issue. My stance is the same as that of the Congress party. It is inhumane to kill civilians during war," Tharoor said.

"Israel has been attacking Gaza for a month and a half. People are being killed and even hospitals are being bombed. There is no oxygen in hospitals. The problem should be resolved through negotiations and the people of both countries should be able to live in peace," he added.
