KOCHI: This year's HP India Gaming Landscape Study reports that the growth of the e-sports industry is providing more employment opportunities and increased income for gamers in India. This year's revenue has increased significantly compared to last year. Half of those who took up gaming seriously earn between 6 to 12 lakhs a year. Recognizing the growth of the industry, 42% of parents are accepting gaming as a hobby. However, parents are worried about gaming's career stability and the potential for social isolation.

The study reveals that 61% of people are not aware of gaming courses in India. HP conducted the study on 3000 gamers across 15 Indian cities. Ipsita Dasgupta, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, HP India Market said, 'India is committed to empowering gamers as it emerges as one of the top three PC gaming countries globally.
HP also announced the launch of HP Gaming Garage, a free online professional certificate program in eSports management and game development.
