KOLLAM: The railways have turned their back on the travel woes which could be solved by a slight change in the schedule of Vande Bharat. The regular passengers are facing hardships due to the stubbornness of the railways. The passengers are going to intensify their protest against the non-compliance of the schedule.
It is impractical for Vande Bharat to run from Alappuzha to Ernakulam in 37 minutes. It was delayed for more than 40 minutes the other day. If Vande Bharat is delayed, the other trains are forced to halt. This has doubled the travel woes in Alappuzha. The passengers on the coastal route said the announcement of changing the route via Kottayam without scheduling Vande Bharat to meet the schedule is also unfair.
Kayamkulam passenger will not be affected if the timings of Vande Bharat via Alappuzha are maintained. The passenger departing from Ernakulam at 6.05 will reach Kumbalam at 6.18 and Vande Bharat will pass through Kumbalam before 6.30. The problem is compounded by the fact that the crossing, which used to take 15 minutes, has now taken over 40 minutes.
Running without timing
Venad departs Thiruvananthapuram Central at 5.25 am, 10 minutes late after Vande Bharat started running.
Venad reaches Kottayam by more than half an hour late on most days
Uncontrolled traffic in Palaruvi due to regular delay of Venad
Scheduled departure of Palaruvi 10 minutes earlier and delay of 20 minutes at Mulanthurthi for Vande Bharat.
Sticking to the demand to reschedule Vande Bharat's timing. The reason for the problems is that the schedule of Vande Bharat could not be followed despite halting so many trains.
