Robin bus owner Gireesh arrested from house, action in cheque case of years

KOTTAYAM: Gireesh, the owner of the bus Robin, has been arrested in a cheque case. The arrest is in connection with a cheque case of eleven years. Gireesh was taken into custody by the Pala Police from his house at Erattupetta in Kottayam. The police team left for Ernakulam with Gireesh.


The information is that the other procedures will be completed at Maradu police station. He is likely to be produced before the magistrate today. The police have taken action in a cheque case related to the purchase of a vehicle in 2012. Girish and Robin bus have a lot of support from the people including on social media in constant dispute with the MVD officials. Meantime, Gireesh's lawyer and family alleged that the arrest is an act of vengeance.

The MVD had seized the bus on Friday for violating the permit rules. The bus was seized when it reached Pathanamthitta from Coimbatore and was later shifted to AR Camp of Pathanamthitta police. The bus was seized with the support of a large police force.
