KANNUR: Complaint that a woman was cheated of Rs 1,89,400 by offering an online job on Amazon. Kannur Town Police registered a case on the complaint of Abdul Latif of Kazanakotta Thana.
Abdul Latif's daughter was offered an online freelance job on Amazon and the money was cheated by falsifying that if she orders the products shown in the task in cash, they will pay her the money she paid and its commission. The money was lost between the 16th and 17th of this month.

Fake advertisements of companies are widely spread through Facebook and Instagram. The woman was sent a link explaining the job and told to follow what was shown on it. Later, she was cheated by giving each task several times by making attractive promises.

A certain amount of money had to be paid for doing the task and a promise was made that the money would be returned with profit after completion of the task. Then they sent the related links and asked her to start the task.

Although initially refunded with profit, later they demanded more money from the woman for doing the task and did not refund the money saying various reasons. That's when the woman realized that it was a scam. By that time, a large amount was lost from the account.
