Cricketer S Sreesanth settles money fraud case

KANNUR: The fraud case involving cricketer S Sreesanth and his ilk was settled on Sunday. Kannapuram native Sarig Balagopalan filed a complaint against Sreesanth and Udupi natives Rajeev Kumar K and Venkatesh Kini for coaxing him to join their team as partners and invest good money in a project that aimed to build a sports academy in Kollur.

Sarig’s lawyer P V Mithun proposed a truce that involved a demand for repayment of Rs 18,70,000 along with interest to withdraw the case which Sreesanth and the other parties agreed to. It was Kannur Town Police that registered a case on Sarig's complaint as per the court order.
