Mother inspired by daughters' achievements pursues education journey at 51

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vinitha, a 51-year-old resident of Barton Hill Colony in Kunnukuzhi, has embarked on a remarkable educational journey by enrolling in the Plus One equivalence class. Having passed SSLC thirty-six years ago Vinitha's dream of pursuing further studies was put on hold after she got married at the age of 20 and subsequently faced abandonment by her husband when her youngest daughter, Arunima, was just a year old. Despite these challenges, Vinitha worked in various households to support her two daughters, ensuring they received an education. Her eldest daughter, Anjana, completed her B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics from an Engineering College is married and now resides in Guruvayur. Arunima achieved her BDS from a private college in Kasaragod, marking a significant milestone as the first doctor from Barton Hill Colony.

Inspired by her daughters' achievements, last year, a celebration was organized by the locals to honor Arunima's success. This event served as the catalyst for Vinitha's decision to pursue her own educational aspirations. Motivated by a deep desire to learn, Vinitha joined the Plus One Equivalence Class at the Medical College Higher Secondary School.

Her dedication to her studies is evident as she diligently studies each day's lessons, ensuring thorough memorization before the next class. Her efforts bore fruit as she achieved a commendable 75 percent in Plus One. Alongside her studies, Vinitha completed a course in DCA, providing her with opportunities for temporary computer-related work in semi-government institutions.

Expressing her profound joy for learning, Vinitha shared, "I want to acquire a degree. The happiness I experience from studying is beyond words."

Vinitha's determination to pursue education despite life's challenges serves as an inspiring example of resilience and the pursuit of lifelong learning.
