NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court harshly criticized Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. The court criticized for the delay in taking decisions on the bills passed by the assembly. The court said the Governor's manner of withholding bills could not be justified.
The court observed that the Governor cannot sabotage the rights of the governments. The court also asked what the governor was doing for two years without settling the bills. When considered the case earlier, the court had said that the Governor was only a symbolic head.
The state chief minister and the minister who introduced the bill should meet the governor and discuss and resolve the current issues. Meantime, the court also said that they cannot intervene in the act of sending the seven bills to the President.
