Discontent brewing within MI following Hardik's return? Rohit, Bumrah among stars reportedly unhappy with move

mi-

MUMBAI: Hardik Pandya has recently made a sensational return to IPL team Mumbai Indians after leaving the franchise in 2021. However, this is tipped to lead to internal problems in the team. The player was resigned at a cost of 15 crores.

As per reports, Hardik was brought back without consulting Rohit Sharma, the captain who won five titles for Mumbai. Rohit was also not interested in trading young Aussie star Cameron Green.

The rumours are based on a story shared by the team's star pacer Jasprit Bumrah on Instagram the other day. Bumrah has unfollowed Mumbai Indians' X and Instagram pages. After this, Bumrah also shared the story that reads 'Silence is sometimes the best answer'.

The discussion in social media is that the star is following Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) pages and this is a prelude to his move to leave the team. It is indicated that the players are dissatisfied with the return of Hardik, who once rejected Mumbai, at a cost of 15 crores and with the offer of captaincy after Rohit.

Captain Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah are said to be the main sources of displeasure. Before the mega auction in 2021, Hardik demanded an increased salary and captaincy in order to stay with Mumbai Indians. But Mumbai denied both these demands back then. After this, Hardik left the team and joined Gujarat Titans.

Suryakumar and Bumrah were ready to play for the remuneration Mumbai offered even though they would have fetched more money in the auction. This move was also to get more players in the star auction for the team and to build a better team.

The reason for the problems was that Hardik, who had only considered his own interest, was brought back with the promise of huge sums and titles. But neither Mumbai Indians nor RCB have officially responded to the reports of Jasprit Bumrah going to RCB.
